HiTech House translates into success for LonMark

LonMark International participated in the annual buildings market trade event of the year in Moscow - HiTech House. This well attended event focused on the building construction market with seminars and vendors from both the commercial/industrial and the residential space. There was a very noticeable interest in open, integrated building control systems and the strengths of LON based systems.

Several large, key integrators shared their successes and experiences and the attendees were impressed by the relative ease and simplicity of delivering such systems.

LON had a very prominent presence at this years show with over 1000 square meters of LON product vendors.

In attendance were device manufacturers, system integrators, tool suppliers, and user interface providers.

LonMark International had a booth staffed with both English and Russian speaking representatives.

Elena Shyshlo, LonMark's newest staff member, helped many visitors understand the value, benefits, and focus of LonMark.

At the annual press conference, Ron Bernstein, the LMI Executive Director, delivered an overview of LonMark's focus, objectives, and programs for the coming year.

Questions and comments were addressed in both English and Russian languages.

LonMark International sponsored the annual BACScenter Awards.

This annual awards program recognizes the achievements of Russian industry professionals for their publications in the area of building construction and controls.

'LonMark is very pleased to support the BACScenter Awards program'.

'More effort is needed to educate and support this industry and those that submitted nominations for their publications are to be thanked for their efforts'.

'This years winners are to be congratulated for their outstanding accomplishments', announced Ron Bernstein, LonMark's executive director, who handed out certificates of accomplishment and gifts from LonMark to the winners in a ceremony held at HiTech House.

Armo Engineering, a LonMark Associate member, graciously hosted the first LonMark Russia kickoff meeting during the show.

Members of seven companies attended the meeting to structure the foundation of the LonMark Russia.

Goals and objectives were set and Gregory Latyshev was selected as interim director to guide the group towards official affiliation status.

Elena Shyshlo will assist as interim organization secretary and both will work towards growing LonMark membership and presence in Russia.
