New Huntsman welding blankets

Jackson Safety new range of Huntsman brand welding blankets for use whilst cutting and welding to protect component surfaces and work areas against spatter and other hot sparks.

ackson Safety, the West Midlands, UK subsidiary of US based Jackson Safety Inc, personal and industrial safety equipment manufacturers has launched a new range of Huntsman brand welding blankets for use whilst cutting and welding to protect component surfaces and work areas against spatter and other hot sparks, which may cause damage to components or even cause fires. These welding blankets, product tested to meet BS EN 1869.1997, are available in a number of different weaves and material weights providing protection against temperatures from 550degC - 1,300degC. Sizes available range from 1,000 mm x 1,000 mm to 3,000 mm x 2,000 mm and they are also available in 50 m.

rolls.

They are designed for use in a number of industries including shipbuilding, rail trackside and equipment maintenance, automotive repair and production, general workshop and out door fabrication, anywhere where a fire or surface damage is to be prevented.

They are available with a coated material providing resistance against abrasion and are easily cleaned, whilst uncoated blankets are more pliable and are better suited for draping over components and should be considered for stress relieving super heated components as the coating has a lower heat resistance and may smoulder under prolonged heat contact.

All Huntsman welding blankets are self hemmed and stitched with high strength fibreglass thread to prevent fraying and are also available with eyelets to secure two or more blankets together or hung in a vertical plane.

Phil Chew, Managing Director EMEA, Jackson Products said: 'This is a new important safety product that we have introduced to the existing Huntsman range and we would recommend using multiple blanket layers for added protection and that all welding blankets should be checked on a regular basis for integrity and damage'.

'Before using welding blankets, we also recommend users seek advice from a qualified health and safety advisor.'
