Asbestoclear rolling-out to roofers
The AWM Group's highly successful Asbestoclear product and service has been commended by the roofing industry nationwide. Since its launch in spring this year Asbestoclear has had a phenomenal response and was recently named in Professional builder as one of the 'Top Products of 2006'. Designed to aid general builders and tradesmen after the recent legislation this year stipulating that tradesmen are no longer allowed to dispose of asbestos related materials at local authority sites, the Asbestoclear pack widely picked up by roofers throughout the country allows them to safely remove and bag the asbestos, and then call to arrange a convenient collection from the dedicated AWM Group team.
Although the use of brown and blue asbestos was banned in 1985, and the use of white heavily restricted in 1991, asbestos is still found in many roofs including, roofing felts, tiles and claddings.
'For roofer's the exposure to asbestos can be unsafe, many only come in to contact with a small amount where it is more likely that the removal is done with little previous experience, no safety equipment and no instruction' said Paul Woodhead, Managing Director, The AWM Group.
'We wanted to provide a product to roofers and all tradesmen that would reduce the dangers of removing the hazardous material and to enable them to easily dispose of it in accordance to the laws and regulations surrounding asbestos removal'.
This has led to Asbestoclear packs enjoying a speedy roll-out of their cement-based asbestos removal packs and safety disposal service from builder's merchants and purchased by roofers throughout the UK.
The catalyst for their success in the roofing sector is the multi-disciplined SIG Group (including Asphaltic, SIG Roofing) who has been stocking the product in its stores.
Paul continues: 'The success of and response to Asbestoclear that we have recieved this year has been exceptional, more than we ever expected'.
'All of us here at the AWM Group have believed in the product from the start, but the uptake we have experienced has still proved overwhelming'.
